About me

Hi, I’m Keila Stout.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with women who have ongoing challenges with anxiety, perfectionism and self-doubt. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed, burnt out or self-critical and start empowering you to make big changes. Helping people is what I look forward to every day.

I offer online therapy services across California.

Sessions are conducted via video calls.

Online therapy is safe and effective.

I have had amazing progress with my clients via telehealth. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about online therapy, just reach out.

My Journey To Becoming A Therapist

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I’m human. I am a recovering perfectionist like many of the clients I love working with. I’ve been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.

I decided to go into the healing profession because I believed that it was the key to getting to the core of human injuries. My hope is to help my clients have an interpersonal experience that will help them to trust themselves, be freed from their traumas and live more freely without the weight of others’ expectations.

Being a therapist is fulfilling

I love guiding people towards figuring stuff out and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives. The most rewarding thing about
being a Therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, more free, and excited about their life.

I Have A Strong Pull Towards Helping And Bring An Open, Non-judgemental Presence To Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

• Help people identify what they are feeling

• Uncover what’s under the surface

• Accept people for who they are in their current life circumstances

• Help clients heal their past and manage the present

Our Sessions Are Focused On You

Sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you’ll be able to gain clarity and figure things out about yourself. It’s important to me to create safety within session and stay open to any feedback and questions you may have.

There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to Therapy.

Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

As A Therapist,
I Embrace the Following Philosophies

• I believe that emotions heal when they are

witnessed and validated

• I believe that therapy works when both of us are

committed to your healing

• I believe that change is possible when you allow

yourself the space to do the work

• I believe that Brene Brown was right when she

said, “Owning your story is the bravest thing you’ll

ever do”

• I believe that we can stop feeling shame when we

share our story with someone who can hear it with

empathy and understanding

My Professional Background

I have been a therapist for over 10 years.

I understand humans as intrinsically relational beings and therefore integrate my training and experience with that in mind. I am trained in DBT (Dialectic Behavior Therapy) which provides wonderful skills for emotion regulation and communication. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which has shown to be incredibly effective at treating trauma/difficult past memories.

I am also trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy), which I have seen dramatically change and transform marriages/couples.
